Portico Church

Portico camping trip is here again! We are saying goodbye to the blazing heat and moving to higher, cooler ground. This trip is open to everyone -all ages, all people, & all types.

Here is the info.

place: Aspen Campground at Woods Canyon Lake

We already have multiple sites reserved. Aspen is equipped with bathrooms, trees, firepits, rocks, insects, etc. Want a little more info about Aspen and directions. Each site has a grill, rocks, wildlife, parking area, ample dirt, etc.

when: July 9-12, 2009 [thursday - sunday; 3 nights]

If you can't come for the whole time please feel free to come for any part. We know not everyone can make (or wants to) all those nights. Come and go as you need.

price: $18.00 per family unit, per night. This gets a little tricky when you start mixing family units on the same sites -which we do for obvious reasons. So...you may pay less but plan on this amount. There is also an addition $10 a night charge for a 2 vehicle on the same site.

activities: Camping brings all sorts of cool things to do...campfires & smores, fishing at Woods Canyon Lake (can drive or walk there), canoe rental & fishing boat rental, ghost stories in tents, the infamous "cave exploration outing", swimming at "box canyon", hikes, tons of games, bee stings, hunting...insects, bear wrestling...and if none of that excites you, who can say no to just laying in a hammock, in natural surroundings for 3 days -seriously.

bring: you know...stuff you need for camping -examples include: tents, sleeping bags, food, other people, flashights, fishing pole, food, friends, matches, games, food...just stuff like that. What not to bring: non-camping items.
