children
There are many kids who are a part of Portico. We love the fact that we have babies, elementary, junior high and high school students. We recognize the unique developmental stages of children. Our desire is for children (just like adults) to grow and develop together holistically: emotionally, physically, intellectually & spiritually in the ways of Jesus and on mission with God.
Sunday Morning Gathering:
Nursery: The nursery is for babies up to toddlers. There are loving, caring adult workers who stay in the nursery with these kids. There is a sign in/out sheet in the nursery.
Pre-School: We don't have a seperate pre-school class at this time (04.08). So...they typically hang in the nursery or join the elementary class. When the time is right we would love to have a separate space for these kids.
Elementary: 1st-4th grade kids have a space for their development through: interaction, scripture, play, crafts, snacks, & stories. Please go to the kids check-in sign.
Community Meal:
During our community meal, typically on the first Sunday of the month, we all eat together. After the meal, little kids go to the nursery while the rest discuss, prayer, learn, share, etc.
Home Gatherings:
Our home gatherings are designed for the whole family and body to come together. After we eat dinner together, children often break off into a different room in the house for a time of guided interaction.
